How to Get Black Pearls in ARK - ProGameTalk (1)

Black Pearls are one of the later end-game resources that you need, mainly for crafting Tek items, structures, and more.

This resource may have a similarity to Silica Pearls but it is very different and much rarer to find, mostly in the harder to reach parts of maps.

To progress into the Tek tier, you will most likely be needing more Black Pearls to fund your crafting of Tek-related items.

How to Collect Black Pearls?

Black Pearls can only be obtained by either harvesting them from their nodes (appear as black variant as Silica Pearls) or from killing certain creatures.

Certain creatures may be killed and harvested for Black Pearls, while others simply drop it on death (which is collected automatically when killed by your tame.)

Some creatures may produce Black Pearls over time as long as they have sufficient food to survive.

Where to Farm Black Pearls?

Depending on which map you are on, there are certain places where you can collect Black Pearls, some maps having better spots than others.

Scorched Earth

In Scorched Earth, Deathworms were originally the creatures that first dropped an abundance of Black Pearls, making them a risky target for those in need of the resource.

Ragnarok

In Ragnarok, there are multiple methods when it comes to farming Black Pearl, some of these include killing Iceworms in the Snow Cave. (42.2 – 56.5)

You can also kill plenty of Tusoteuthis underwater in the Pit of Dreen which is where the Artifact of the Devourer is also located. (47.4 – 2.3)

There are several Black Pearl spots (black versions of Silica Pearls) that can be harvested in the Pit of Dreen.

You can find more Black Pearls near the bottom of the water between the G-shaped island and the main island. (70.7 – 21.1)

Several creatures exist in Ragnarok which can be killed and/or harvested to obtain Black Pearls, making it one of the best maps for the resource.

Other spots that have Black Pearls include:

  • 7 – 4.5
  • 3 – 15.7
  • 5 – 18.6
  • 4 – 5.3

Aberration

An abundance of Black Pearls can be found along the rivers in the Graves of the Lost, which is located a bit south of the center of the map.

Notable spots include the following:

  • 6 – 46.1
  • 7 – 45.4
  • 9 – 48.2
  • 51-8 – 51.6
  • 8 – 52.5

Extinction

One of the best ways to get Black Pearls is to tame a Gacha but the resources it drops come at random, so you may need to do a bit of searching for the right one.

After obtaining a Gacha or a few, you can simply feed them random resources, preferably Stone, so that they produce Gacha Crystals which can be broken to release resources, such as Black Pearls.

Large Corrupted creatures in Extinction may drop Black Pearls when killed but you should be careful as they pose quite a threat.

Valguero

Black Variants of Silica Pearls (Black Pearls) can be found in a few parts of Valguero, some of these include the following coordinates:

  • 3 – 10.9
  • 4 – 25.6
  • 9 – 26.9

Crystal Isles

There are large water bubbles located in the Eldritch Isle which contain Black Clams which can be harvested for Black Pearls.

Entering a water bubble will allow you to see and harvest the Black Clams within it, which respawn later on after a while.

Notable areas in Crystal Isles include:

  • 4 – 70.4
  • 7 – 74.3
  • 8 – 75.6
  • 9 – 79.1
  • 1 – 75.5

Genesis Part 2

You can collect Black Pearls from the open space area in Genesis Part 2 if space has changed to the Pearl’s Asteroid, noticeable by the greenish asteroids and spotted teal planet.

The carnivorous plants (they appear as orange Venus flytraps) which are inactive (those that do not move or attack) can be harvested for different resources, including Black Pearls.
